Music idol Will.i.am has apparently helped create a device that will turn any iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, or iPhone 5 into a massively powerful 14-megapixel camera. In an interview with the UK newspaper Telegraph, he was quoted as saying, "We have our own sensor and a better flash."

It is going to be the flagship product for a new line of devices from Will.i.am that will apparently be branded as "i.am+" and will likely be tailored to high-end photography enthusiasts. That is, if the iPhone accessory is any indication.

Apple seems to be content keeping the iPhone camera quality to 8 megapixels. There was absolutely no upgrade with the camera sensor from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5. For the average person -- which has always been Apple's target demographic -- there is no need for anything more powerful than 8 megapixels.

People who do nothing with their pictures but look at them on their phone, or maybe occasionally upload them to Facebook, will never realize a need for a 14-megapixel sensor. Facebook viewers would barely even see a difference.

But Will.i.am recognized that the iPhone can do better. It could actually function as a professional camera, if it just had a little bit more horsepower.

The accessory will be officially introduced at a launch event in London on November 28. Pricing details and the launch date will also likely be revealed at that time.
