Apple is Top PC Maker if you count Tablets

Apple is the global PC maker again.

Canalys released their quarterly PC market report and Apple is again the global leading PC makers. Canalys counts tablets as PCs. The strong iPad sales in the last quarter put Apple ahead of HP again. Apple has a global market share of 19%. HP has 12.5% and Lenovo has 12.1%.

"Reports that poor economic conditions and the wait for Windows 8 hurt the PC industry this quarter do not tell the whole story," said Tom Evans, Canalys Research Analyst. "The PC industry is performing well and 2012 is shaping up to be a record year. Vendors with innovative products will reap the rewards."

Canalys predicts a new world record in PC shipments this year.
