Apple introduced the iPhone 7 years ago, but there have been a lot of people that are disappointed with the perceived lack of innovation in the device since then. There are a lot of expectations for the latest model, though, and Apple is going to have to make big changes if they are going to maintain the market share that they have been enjoying since essentially creating the smart phone market that we enjoy today.

Firstly, the iPhone 6 must have a much larger screen, although that is expected as a certainty. Android phones have been growing at an incredible rate, while the small bump that iPhones have received hasn’t made people happy. The new devices are expected to have a 4.7” option and a 5.5” option.

A major update to iOS is also necessary. Android devices have a high level of custom options that make each device perfectly suited for the individual using it. That is not the case with iOS unfortunately. iOS 8 is coming this fall and there are going to be a lot of new features that will make it stand out amongst the rest of the pack, but it isn’t known if there will be anything that opens it up the way Android is.

These are only two of the things that Apple has worked hard on. The appeal of each new model has slowly decreased over time, although with the changes that they have in mind for the iPhone 6, Apple has once again prepared a record setting launch like they have never seen since the original release.
