Along with an iPhone 6 and iWatch, Apple also has a new version of the iPad Air rumored to be on the horizon. There hasn’t been a lot said about it so far, but new information sheds light on the kinds of things we can expect from it.

There are several analysts reporting that the new iPad Air is going to be released later on in the year, although new reports are saying that it will have a major upgrade in more ways than one. In particular, the new iPad is going to be capable of supporting ultra high definition video in 4K. 4K televisions might still be out of reach for a lot of people, but having it in an iPad is a close substitute.

It will also have a boost in graphics that will help them become a larger player in the gaming world. The Metal API technology that they are going to be using will give them a big leg up and pull in people who have been thinking about other companies that have more of a focus on video gaming.

The release date is still up in the air, although assembly is believed to begin this month. With mass production starting now, it could point to a fall release, at the same time that many people are expecting the new iPhone and the long awaited iWatch to be released. Stay tuned for more information about a release date and what other additions we could see in the next generation.
