4.7 and 5.5 inch models are expected to be announced later this year

Apple’s iPhones have been behind in screen size for the past few years. While other phones have been growing larger and larger, the iPhone has stayed much smaller even though people have been anxiously awaiting the release of something larger. There is still not much solid information available on when we can expect a larger phone to be released, but recent reports are suggesting that more information might be coming sometime soon.

The report comes from the Japanese newspaper known as Nikkei. They have printed a story detailing the iPhone six as coming in both 4.7 and 5.5 inch models, both of which will be launched as early as September of this year. They detailed the production of the LCD panels and stated that the manufacturing will start sometime before June in a plant based in Japan. They will be coming from LG Electronics and will also come with higher resolution.

Other reports have stated that both models are in the works, but the 4.7 might be the only one that we see being released this year. That remains to be seen, but there will certainly be more information as the date approaches. Experts are certain that a new model will be coming out, but we still don’t know for sure what size the screen will be. Stay tuned for more details if you are one of the people who has been patiently waiting for a larger screen before dropping money on one of the smaller options that are currently available.
