Mobile World Congress Declares iPad Air The Best Tablet

The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is a big event for portable computing and everyone who is a fan of it. Apple regularly remains absent from this even, though. Despite that, it took home the 19th Annual Global Mobile Award for Best Mobile Tablet.

What is striking is that there were many other tablets who were working hard to earn the nomination, but failed to even having a presence. Apple doesn’t even have to show up at this point to win awards.

The judges said that it packs an attractive and svelte frame that is filled with class leading performance. They went on to largely praise the overall engineering behind this one of a kind device. The Retina display was particularly impressive, with images, video, text, and webpages looking crisper than ever. Behind that monitor is the A7 processor that packs a punch but doesn’t suck the battery dry.

They won again in 2012, but lost last year to the Google Nexus 7. If they continue to upgrade the iPads there is no reason to think that they won’t continue taking control of awards shows. A new update is expected by the end of the year, with new even more powerful models coming out in the coming years.
