Apple Patent Reveals the Application of Sapphire for Future iPhone Protection

The application of sapphire on the iPhone display is found to enhance the durability of the device significantly

Apple Patent Reveals the Application of Sapphire for Future iPhone Protection

On Tuesday, Apple published a new patent, entitled “Attachment Techniques,” stating a procedure about attaching sapphire to the tech giant’s smartphone.

Moreover, the patent reveals a broaden application of the sapphire, as an example described in the filing states that the material can be used to provide more protection to the iPhone display effectively.

The matter has already been proved by CNET’s Jessica Dolcourt, as she finds that the sapphire display cover shows more durability and scratch resistance than the presently applied Gorilla Glass.

Sapphire is a very effective material which works better than the metals to dissipate heat from the processor. For this reason, many companies prefer to use it in their devices.

Knowing the advantage of using sapphire, Apple has already employed GT Advanced Technologies for constructing the material for its future devices.

Apple is expected to find more new ways of using sapphire effectively in the near future.
