According to Mac Rumors, the new Mac Pro is enabled to get its firmware updated, as a recent tear down shows off a removable Intel processor.

The experiment was performed by the experts of Other World Computer (OWC), who state that the Intel Xeon E5 processor is certainly changeable, enabling the users to upgrade the new Mac Pro in the future.

The tear down also reveals that the LGA 2011 socket has been applied in all four CPUs of the new Mac Pro, ultimately solving the problem of upgrading issues which is caused in case of the soldered components.

The decision of not using the soldered component in the latest Mac Pro is indeed a great move by the tech giant. It will allow the customers to use the same device for a longer period.
