iPhone 5S outsells Galaxy S4 and all other devices of its major competitors to become the best smartphone on the global market

According to Counterpoint, a market research organization, Apple’s latest model of the iPhone, the 5S version, has grabbed the top position in the global smartphone ranking, as it surpasses its fierce rival-Samsung’s Galaxy S4.

In the list of “Top Handsets Models Sold Globally in October 2013,” three different models of iPhone managed to get into the ranking. The iPhone 5S takes the first position, whereas iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C get themselves in second and fourth positions respectively.

Though the smartphones of Apple’s major competitor, Samsung, have failed to achieve the top spot, five of its devices have managed to get into the top 10 list. Galaxy S4, Samsung’s flagship smartphone, has achieved the third position. Other models of Samsung’s smartphones, Galaxy Note III, Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy S III Mini, has grabbed fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth positions accordingly.

The remaining two spots, the eighth and tenth positions, have been grabbed by Nokia’s 105 and Asha 501 models respectively.

According to Cnet, Apple has done extremely well in the global smartphone market. Most notably, overcoming the poor market share in the Chinese market, taking it to 12% in October, which is a big jump from September’s 3% market share.

With the upcoming launch of the iPhone in the stores of China Mobile, the world’s largest carrier, Apple is expected to continue its reign in the ranking for a longer period.
