Apple has been declared as the top vendor of tablets in the last quarter year, thanks to its adequate shipments.

Cnet states that the tech giant has been found with a shipment of 14.25 million iPads, taking its market share to 29.7 percent, according to the report of a research firm called IHS. However, it is down from the previous quarter’s 14.62 million shipments.

IHS believes that the lack of a second-quarter product release and anticipation of a fourth quarter product update is responsible for the decreased shipments.

Samsung is just behind Apple with 10.7 million tablet shipments and 22.7 percent market share. However, it is up from the second quarter’s 8.6 million tablet shipments with a 20 percent market share.

Rhoda Alexander, the IHS director of tablet research, said “Hardware profit plays a big role in Apple’s success, enabling the design, durability and performance innovations that, in turn, supports Apple’s premium pricing.”

With the new iPads receiving a great response from the customers, Apple is expected to remain in the top spot for a longer period of time.
