According to Patently Apple, the next versions of iPads and Macs are strongly expected to be provided with Touch ID, as stated by an Apple patent filing.
The filing has been revealed by the US Patent and Trademark Office, which clearly indicates that the Touch ID is going to be applied beyond the current model of Apple’s smartphone-the iPhone 5S.
The Touch ID is believed to be applied not only in the new version of iPads expected to be released next week but also can be used in Apple’s laptop line ups.
Patently Apple states that the fingerprint scanner can be used in tablets, notebooks, personal digital assistants, desktop computer and portable media players.
The inclusion of Touch ID will definitely boost Apple’s devices in the enterprise sectors, as stated by Chris Whitmore, an analyst from Deutsche Bank.
The consumers are very enthusiastic about the addition of Touch ID in Apple’s upcoming major products, as it will enable them to enjoy a strengthened security function.
