Apple’s maps have been notoriously inaccurate ever since they launched. Apple seems to believe they have most of the inaccuracies worked out, but clearly that’s not the case in all instances. Word has surfaced that there some significance issues with the maps having to do with Fairbanks international Airport in Alaska.
Apparently, Apple Maps has been trying to route people looking for one of the passenger terminals down with the airports taxiways. To make matters even worse, the map flaw has apparently led to people from out of town to actually drive onto airport grounds. Exactly how security at airports be so lax that someone could get a vehicle physically onto airport taxiways is unknown. I wonder how quickly Apple will fix this particular flaw. I also wonder when some drivers will get a clue and stop following GPS blindly.
