Is that an iPhone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? Or both? Whatever you have in that pocket, there's an app for that. A company called VSM Enterprises is making quite a splash this week for its rather unapologetic app that is aimed at providing men with the correct condom size.
In fact, that's the name of the app - Condom Size. VSM is trying to milk it for as much money as it can before Apple no doubt takes it down and labels it inappropriate. Heck, if an app full of Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoons can be yanked for inappropriate content, this app has no chance.
Nevertheless, it is still on the App Store as of the morning of January 25. It is available for the low price of $1.99. That's either a good price for a boost of self confidence, or a waste of money to spend on creating greater insecurities.
As laughable as the concept sounds, the app itself is built very professionally and with a very clean and sterile presentation.
That is, of course, if you can get over the unseemly part where the app asks the user to place his, ahem, object in question, directly on top of the iPhone screen. There is a virtual ruler to measure how long it is.
Of course, if the iPhone isn't enough for you, you might have to pull out the iPad instead.
The official app description reads, "This app educates the male population on the proper condom placement and helps determine proper condom size. The app also includes educational condom tips, fun facts and more."
"With this app you will be able to very easily determine your condom size through step-by-step instructions, find out exact details and sizes of over 30 condoms, purchase condoms, access educational condom tips, and view a ton of fun facts about condoms!"
